The Amazon Shopper Panel is described as an “opt-in, invitation-only program where participants can earn monthly rewards by sharing receipts from purchases made outside of Amazon, completing short surveys, and enabling ad verification for the ads they see from Amazon’s own advertising or third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon Ads”.
Even if you did not receive an invite, you can still download the app, and join the wait-list for when space is available.
Here’s my initial review of the program, since signing up for it earlier this month:
Surveys:
I have only received 1 survey so far, which was the initial sign-up one, for which I received 25 cents.
Receipts:
As for receipts, hands down it is the EASIEST and fastest way to earn $5 in free Amazon credit, of all the rewards/cashback apps I am using.
All you need to do, is upload 10 qualifying receipts per month (from grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, restaurants, etc.), and you’ll get $5 credited to your Amazon.ca account at the beginning of the following month.
I uploaded the same ones I had on hand, that I had already uploaded to Receipt Hog and ReceiptJar, and these were approved quite quickly.
Ad Verification:
Amazon wants to know when and where you see their ads. If you opt to participate in this, you’ll need to grant the app VPN access so that it can monitor your internet traffic.
From a technical perspective, your phone can only use one VPN at a time, so if you are already using an actual VPN app, then you won’t be able to participate in this part.
If you feel comfortable granting them VPN access, then you’ll get $3 per month. It is forfeited if you have it disabled for more than a cumulative total of 48 online hours in a month.
Otherwise, just stick with the receipt and survey part of the app and you’ll still get at least $5 every month.
You also have the option to have Amazon donate your earnings to a selection of charities including the Canadian Cancer Society, Food Banks Canada, and others.
Verdict:
I have accumulated an $8.25 rewards balance so far, and will continue using the Amazon Shopper Panel as long as my Amazon account is credited next month.
I am still on the fence regarding the ad verification part – I may opt out of it next month.
If you don’t shop at Amazon, then there is no point for you to let Jeff Bezos know your shopping habits. Just stick with the other receipt apps that let you withdraw your earnings in cash.
It’s worth noting that American/Amazon.com panel members get $10USD monthly credit for their receipts and $2 for ad verification.
Update May 1: The rewards credit for April is already in my Amazon account as a gift card balance.

Earnings for April has been credited.
do you need to have Amazon prime to do this?
I don’t have a Prime membership, and qualified for this right away, after installing the app.
