In addition to earning Microsoft Rewards points from your purchases at Microsoft or Xbox, points can also be earned via daily quizzes, polls and for every Internet search performed through Microsoft’s search engine, Bing.
Accumulated points may be used to enter contests or redeem for a variety of gift cards including Best Buy, Cineplex, Esso, Starbucks, Ultimate Dining Card (for use at Harveys, Swiss Chalet, etc), and others.
I have personally redeemed for a Starbucks gift card with points earned primarily from their daily tasks but have since stopped collecting.
Bing search isn’t my cup of tea, however for those whose default search engine is already Bing, it may make sense to sign up for Microsoft Rewards, as every search will incrementally get you closer to free food or gas.
