Leger Opinion (LEO) online survey panel review

Leger is a Canadian market research and analytics company.

As a participant of their LEO survey panel program, you can earn points and contest entries by completing online surveys.

These points can be accumulated and redeemed for a variety of rewards like Air Miles or Aeroplan points, e-gift cards (Amazon, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Walmart, more), or cashed out via Paypal or onto a virtual prepaid Visa or Mastercard.

The frequency from which you can expect surveys may vary depending on your demographic and responses given to qualifying questions.

You can expect anywhere between 500 points to 3000 points or more per survey.

The qualifiers for each survey can take a minute or two to get through, and if you don’t meet the requirements, you’ll still get 50 points for your time.

The norm though, from what I’ve seen available to me, are usually surveys in the 1000 points range, and these can take 5 – 10 minutes to complete. Generally, the larger the point value, the longer it will take.

I’ve gone through droughts of very few or no surveys available, to periods when there are several posted daily – sometimes you can earn thousands of points in very little time.

Survey topics can range in topics – from your opinion on new products and marketing campaigns to current events and political opinions.

20,000 points is the minimum cash-out amount which is equivalent to $20.

I have been a member for a number of years now and have had no issue cashing out to my Paypal account.

I’ve made three cashouts in the past couple weeks alone.

In my opinion, LEO is amongst one of the better paid-survey panel programs out there, providing an easy way to make free money.

Tips:

While many surveys can be completed on a mobile, some of their surveys require a desktop to complete. (Forcing a mobile browser to desktop mode is not ideal for these ones).

From personal experience, even some of the mobile friendly surveys are better off done on a desktop with the use of a mouse.

If you are on a limited mobile data plan, make sure you are connected to free wifi or are on your home Internet. Some surveys involve viewing graphics or videos of new commercials, which may consume a large amount of data.

If you install their app on your smartphone, you can expect it to keep directing you to open an external browser whenever you want to complete a survey.

I normally use an alternative browser other than my phone’s default, and have experienced issues on some 3rd party survey platforms that Leger uses. I use an Android based smartphone and have to keep reminding myself to select Chrome when the LEO app prompts me to open a browser, to help minimize the chance of potential problems.

This is the one annoying thing I find about the app. Otherwise, you can choose to avoid the hassle altogether and just stick to using your browser to access LEO.

Affiliate disclosure: Existing LEO members can earn 1000 points for sending them new panel members.
