I was listening to a recent episode of CBC’s Cost of Living podcast and learned of a chain of liquidation centres called Krazy Binz.
They sell overstock and product returns from many big box and online retailers like Amazon.
All products in their bins are the same fixed price depending on the day of the week, and reduced every day until everything is $1. Then it all starts again with the next shipment.
To gain entry, you are required to book a slot online. You then have 30 minutes to find your deals at your confirmed designated time.
High value items like laptops and other electronics can be had at that day’s price if you find the lucky egg in one of the bins.
“Leftover items are donated, recycled or packed by the hundreds into mystery bags and sold for $15.”
Krazy Binz’ Canadian locations are currently only in Alberta and Ontario with stores in Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, London, Cambridge, Kitchener, and Hamilton.
If you live near one, you may want to check it out after the Ontario lockdown is lifted. Alberta stores are open (please be safe AB).
Update:
There is now a new location in Mississauga, Ontario.
