I noticed a post on Reddit today about .ca domain name registrations on sale for $0.88 at Web Hosting Canada.
This is a very good deal if you just want to reserve a domain name now, before someone else registers your idea.
I have used WHC.ca’s domain registration services before but can not personally speak about their web hosting.
Note that in some cases, purchasing a 1-year web hosting package sometimes gets you a free domain name anyways depending on which hosting company you choose.

Their renewal rate is $13.99 which is about average. You can always transfer it to another registrar later if you find a cheaper option (you might want to turn off auto-renew).
